Kidney Stones

Humans have two kidneys and shaped like a bean that are around 4 to 5  inches in length. They are located towards the back of the abdomen on either side of the spine.

They remove waste products from the blood. The clean blood is then transferred back into the body and the waste products are passed out of the body in your urine when you go to the toilet.

Kidney stones can develop in one or both kidneys.

When Kidney stones cause severe pain it’s known as renal colic.
